Welcome to Firefly International Energy Co., home of the revolutionary lead acid batteries, manufactured using the award winning Microcell™ Carbon Foam Technology. Not since the invention of the Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) battery has there been such a ground breaking technological innovation in the lead acid battery industry, which was made possible by FIE’s total commitment to the evolution of the battery industry using state of the art engineering and materials. This new battery design will be adaptable across many industrial applications ranging from Telecommunications, Renewable Energy, UPS, Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Power Grid Storage. Batteries made using the patented Microcell™ technology are ideally suited for deep cycling application where they operate in Partial State of Charge most of the time and they last around 2.5 to 3 times longer than the conventional lead acid batteries, which use lead grids. FIE Co. is proud to announce that in 2012 it shipped its first purchase order of GR31 Oasis batteries. Also, we have begun implementing prototype batteries into the Peoria Police Department’s Nuisance Abatement Vehicle, “The Armadillo”, which has been a valuable tool in Peoria’s arsenal against crime in this area. The addition of FIE Co.’s battery technology has ensured that the Armadillo can operate in the area for a considerably increased length of time without returning to the station for recharging. We took this involvement a step further by designing and installing a solar panel along with a suitable charge-controller so that the batteries would get recharged during the daytime and stay healthy, ready for use in any emergency, especially at night time. On the international front, FIE Co. has licensed Epsilon Batteries Private Ltd. of India to produce Firefly technology driven batteries for the Asian market. The 21st century presents vast and critical new challenges in the field of energy storage and management, especially in renewable energy. We, at Firefly International Energy Co., believe that these challenges require, nothing less than, a revolution in the way we think of battery power and are confident we can overcome long-standing performance bottlenecks of existing batteries by utilizing fresh and untapped technologies such as the Microcell™ Carbon Foam technology. | | | 2007 R&D 100 Award
